The Materials Manager will be responsible for the materials management functions relating to the planning, control, and distribution of materials to meet company objectives and customer requirements. This will involve managing and administering procurement, inventory, shipping, receiving, and material storage.
A qualified candidate must have a bachelors degree in business or a related discipline; seven + years of experience in all of the various material control functions; seven + years of management experience; the ability to work effectively with all levels of employees, management, customers, and vendors; exceptional negotiating skills; domestic and international sourcing experience; contract law experience; proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook) required, proficiency with Syteline desired; the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment; strong verbal and written communication skills.
Professional certification highly desired (APICS certification as CPIM (certified production and inventory management), SCP (supply chain professional), or CPM (certified purchasing management)). Experience working in a lean manufacturing environment will be strongly preferred. |
