CNC Machinists (Mills and Lathes):
Seeking qualified candidates that have CNC mill and/or CNC lathe experience. Should have at least 2 years of machining experience, a positive attitude, and basic tools. Detailed Description:
The CNC Machinist is responsible for the setup, operation and maintenance of existing production machinery; maintenance of proper documentation; and support of the manufacturing engineering function.
- Maintains existing machinery, fixtures, and tooling including replacement of worn and broken tools, adjustment to proper parameters, and rework of parts with minimal input.
- Demonstrates a high degree of proficiency in the setup, operation, and care of special machine tools, such as CNC mills, drills, jigs, mills, lathes, and fixtures.
- Determines feed rates, spindle speeds, and incorporates these into a CNC program.
- Adheres to dimensions and tolerances found on blueprints.
- Observes operation of machine and verifies conformance of machined work pieces to specifications using measuring instruments such as fixed gauges, calipers, and micrometers.
- Reworks production parts and performs emergency rework and/or modification of production parts as directed.
- Modifies existing processes if necessary.
- Inspects prototypes and machining and machines prototype fixtures and First Article Inspection components.
- Uses blueprints and sketches to determine proper methods and processes.
- Maintains records of repair, replacement, and inventory.
- Supports the engineering function and engineering projects as necessary.
- Participates in team decision making, and develops team problem solving and communication skills.
- Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
- Perform minor preventive maintenance on production equipment such as cleaning, lubrication and visual inspecting equipment to identify actual and/or potential problems.
- Follows all safety procedures.
